ABOUT ROLAND CARE HOMES

Roland Care Homes was established in 1987. We provide care and support for adults who are experiencing mental health needs and recovering from drug and alcohol misuse. Service users with medium- to high-care needs benefit from care in our residential setting. Some of our homes provide care and support for service users who are experiencing Korsakoff’s Syndrome (alcohol-related dementia).

The organisation has five residential care homes and two supported housing locations. Our residential care homes are for service users who require 24-hour residential care and support. Our supported housing locations are for service users who do not require 24-hour support and are transitioning towards independent living.

We support service users to achieve their goals by using the bio-psycho-social model. We aim to understand service users’ precipitating and predisposing factors and support, help, advise and guide service users in their areas of need.

  • Promote the welfare of the individual service user
  • Respect the human rights of the service user, their right to personal freedom, choice in daily living, dignity and self-respect, independence, privacy and ability to exercise their free will
  • Assist with any frailty, disability or illness which a service user may have, in a manner which is not intrusive towards the service user
  • Involve the service user in any decision-making which concerns them
  • Assess and respond to the changing needs of the service user on a daily basis through care plans and risk assessments
  • Take into account the social, sexual, cultural and religious context of the service user’s circumstances and support the service user to take decisions for themselves
